Our First Year!

One of the joys of starting a small family business in a busy part of Pokhara city, is the ebb and flow of friends, passers-by, neighbours and contacts that frequent our micro-cafe and coffee roastery.

As the first year of our business development draws to a close, we at Black Kite look back and remember dear friends that have left Nepal, regular customers and new faces alike. Our hope is that, in being part of the Black Kite community, our customers will have experienced something of the Kingdom of God, whether it be a kind word or interaction, or a longer conversation with someone for whom we have given time and interest.

One thing is for certain, without sharing the love and grace that we ourselves have received, our ‘labour is in vain.’

In the words of Cesar Chavez:

“We cannot seek achievement for ourselves and forget about progress and prosperity for our community…Our ambitions must be broad enough to include the aspirations and needs of others, for their sakes and our own.”
