Rebekah
Rebekah grew up in India, the daughter of an IIT professor who raised her to believe that women could do anything. That upbringing left a deep impression — as did watching the strong women around her navigate a society that too often overlooked their potential. After attending college in the US, she returned to India in 2015 and worked with Fabindia to build Fabcafe- India’s first health food cafe chain — taking the concept from zero to 28 restaurants in just four years. Rebekah then decided to build something that reflected both her roots and her convictions. She is a certified birth doula, and a lifelong wellness advocate, and she brings all of that into her work at Atmosphere. She is happiest when she is creating — whether that's a batch of kombucha, a community workshop, or space for a woman to grow into her own.
Ariella
Ariella studied computer science and theater in college — a combination that tells you a lot about her. She went on to work with Organic India, establishing wellness centres across the country, before co-founding Atmosphere with her sister Rebekah. A Nutritional Therapist and gut health specialist, Ariella brings the science to the sisterhood, translating complex nutritional research into products that are genuinely good for you and genuinely delicious. When she's not in the kitchen or poring over ingredient sourcing, she's volunteering with local NGOs and spending time with her pets. She has, as everyone who knows her will tell you, a very big heart.
More About Atmosphere
Atmosphere is a gut health food and beverage brand founded by sisters Rebekah Sood and Ariella Blank, who grew up in India and returned to build a company rooted in the communities they love. At the heart of Atmosphere is a simple but radical idea: that a food business can be a vehicle for women's economic empowerment. Almost every person who works at Atmosphere is a woman, and the company is designed from the ground up around what women actually need — fair wages, flexible hours that accommodate family responsibilities, and a workplace where there is no ceiling on growth.
The product range centres on handcrafted, probiotic-rich kombucha — a flavourful, gut-friendly alternative to the sugary drinks that dominate the Indian market — alongside a growing line of health-conscious fudges and baked goods, all made with fresh, unrefined ingredients. Atmosphere also runs nutrition and gut health workshops, pop-up events, and wellness gatherings that bring their community into the conversation and bridge the gap between everyday consumers and genuinely healthy living.
With support from Passion Ventures, Atmosphere is moving into its first dedicated production facility — a multi-floor factory that will allow the team to scale kombucha production, bring on more women from the local community, and build the kind of compliant, professional operation that sets a new standard for what a women-led food business in India can look like. This expansion is not just about growing a brand. It is about proving, one hire and one bottle at a time, that business built by women for women is not only possible — it is powerful.
