Visitors and Bakers from Israel
The Israeli rush continued throughout all of October. We found that several of our customers were actually bakers in Tel Aviv so we invited them to come and teach our staff how to make some traditional Israeli hallah bread so that our customers could not only have a taste of home but so they could also have their bread for the weekly shabbat.
Several of these bakers came one afternoon and spent hours teaching the staff how to make this bread and, needless to say, it was a major hit. Not only would the hallah bread sell out within minutes but many were pre-ordering. We could not keep them in stock.
At the end of October, our sales were 75% higher than the previous October. In fact, our total sales for October alone was 50% of our entire previous year’s sales.
Needless to say, it was an incredible month for us. The staff moved non-stop and the excitement of such business in our neighborhood was thrilling to see.
